Top-quality video production for Isuzu D-MAX ute & MU-X launch

Isuzu Mux Launch 2021

  • Having won an abundance of awards, the team at Isuzu needed high-production videos for the launch of the new D-MAX and MU-X vehicles. They wanted to showcase the cars’ best features, include “reveals” of the vehicle to generate buzz, and educate their sales team, who couldn’t see the car in person due to COVID-19 restrictions.

    They turned to Brisbane’s best post house 3P Studio. Managing Director Haley McDonald, who I’ve worked with for 15 years, engaged me to manage the shoot from concept to execution.

  • I liaised with the client, recce’d the location, coordinated the shoot and managed the logistics and crew on-set. 3P Studio produced video assets to use in TV commercials, digital advertising and internal communications.

    I start any shoot with 3P Studio by getting clear on their objective and making the client – the most important person on set – feel valued. This means knowing the ins and outs of the subject and why the asset is being produced, identifying the audience and the right type of language to speak to them, and storyboarding ahead of the shoot. This preparation ensures the client and Director are clear on the final product that will be delivered in post.

    I book every crew member ensuring I know what they like and don’t like in terms of on-set technical requirements, access, set-up, catering, hair and make-up. I know that a happy crew makes for a great shoot, so I make sure everyone is looked after.

  • The result? The award-winning cars were shot with top production values by an award-winning production company. The Isuzu D-MAX ute and MU-X are loved by Isuzu customers and 3P Studio’s high-end production reflects the vehicle’s quality, reliability, and impressive credentials.

Queensland Child Protection Week 2020

  • Now in its 38th year, Queensland Child Protection Week celebrates the message that ‘protecting children is everybody’s business’. The annual event also celebrates award recipients who do valuable work to improve the lives of vulnerable children and young people.

    Our goal each year is to educate the community about the issue of child protection and celebrate the 100+ events being held across the state through national, state, rural, regional and local media.

  • This is an opportunity to celebrate the incredible people who are making real change in their community, and improving the lives of at-risk youth. These stories need to be told and the award winners deserve to be celebrated.

    I start by meeting all award winners – in person if possible or virtually if they live in a remote area. Their bio only tells me so much, but I get so much more of a sense of who they are by meeting them in person.

    I then craft multiple media opportunities for each of the 11 award winners and proactively pitch individual story concepts to appropriate media outlets across all platforms – TV, radio, print, online, and podcasts.

  • Having worked with the Queensland Child Protection Week Committee for over seven years, I consistently outperform my targets and single-handedly obtain even greater media coverage year-on-year. I am so proud to have achieved the greatest media reach in the history of the campaign.

Opera Queensland 2023 Appeal

  • Opera Queensland (OQ) engaged Bloom PR to write their 2023 Annual Appeal campaign. They needed a creative expert to craft a compelling, emotive story and call to action through words and stunning video.

    As well as a video script, they required copy for EDMs to encourage donations from their generous opera-loving community. The 2023 Annual appeal supports the important work OQ does in regional and remote Queensland because OQ wants Queenslanders of all ages to have the opportunity to experience the power of opera, no matter where they live.

  • I knew in order to be able to write for the Annual Appeal that I had to experience, first-hand, the sensory wonder that is opera in the outback. The productions in Winton and Longreach were true once-in-a-lifetime events. I’ve never felt more moved by a cultural performance. Exquisite, soaring voices touched my heart, gave me goosebumps, and extended through the night sky to reach the blanket of stars. The Royal Opera House is no match for opera in the outback.

    I met school children who were the excited beneficiaries of remote classes with OQ’s artists and composers. I spoke with happy business owners and tourism operators whose takings tripled as a result of OQ’s tour of the outback. I met the incredible artists, generous donors and families whose hearts and minds had been impacted by a single opera performance in an iconic Australian cattle paddock.

    My Annual Appeal campaign copy was used in CEO Patrick Nolan’s video and distributed to tens of thousands through social media, EDMs and the OQ website.
